Program
- Monday - Day 1 - Cappadocia to Kahta - (Mt. Nemrut) - (L/D)
Morning deparute from Cappadocia on scenic drive South East to Adiyaman - Kahta.
On the way we will stop and visit Seljuk Caravanserai and learn about the desing of these unique silk road inns and their shape with a square or rectangular walled exterior, with a single portal wide enough to permit large or heavily laden beasts such as camels to enter.
We will then enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant where you will enhoy the local cuise and the world famous ice cream
Arrival in Kahta, check into our hote and enjoy an early night rest to get ready and charged for our early next day departure.
Overnight in Adiyaman - Kahta.
- Tuesday - Day 2 - Kahta - Mt Nemrut and - Urfa - (B/L/D)
Very early in the morning we will start our day with a short drive to the entrance, get off our minibus and go on a 30 minute hike to the summit of MT Nemrut.
We will then enjoy sunrise between the colossal size statues and heads of the kings and Gods, excellent opportunity for photos.
We will then continue visiting Arsemia which was once the capital of the Commagene Kingdom.
We will see then ancient Septimus Severus Bridge bridge over the Cendere stream, and the Karakus tumulus where members of the royal family were buried.
After some free time, we will depart from Nemrut and drive to Urfa, on the way we will stop and visit the Ataturk Dam.
Upon arrival we will Gobekli Tepe, Abraham's Cave and the Pools of Holy Car, Harran a village of Mud-Brick "beehive" houses
We will spend rest of the day at leisure.
Overnight in Urfa.
- Wednesday - Day 3 - Urfa to Cappadocia - (B/L)
Morning departure from Urfa on a scenic drive back to Cappadocia.
On the way visit Birecik
which is famous for its bald-ibis (Kelaynak) birds.
After lunch we will be on our way to Cappadocia.
Arriving ion Cappadocia will mark the end of this program
